"My doctor told me I needed surgery to fix a labral tear in my shoulder. I decided to see Allison first with the hope of healing my shoulder as much as possible pre-surgery. She did even better than that! With acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and body work my shoulder was healed to the point where surgery was no longer required. Thank you Allison I am extremely grateful."- Christine Loeber
DRY NEEDLING is a gentle, targeted technique used to relieve muscle pain and tightness. It works by placing very thin, sterile needles into "knots" or tense spots in your muscles-also called trigger points. These tight areas can cause pain, limit movement, or lead to long-term discomfort if not addressed.
By releasing these trigger points, dry needling helps your muscles relax, improves blood flow, and supports your body's natural healing. This can lead to better movement, less pain, and faster recovery from injury. Dry needling is also helpful for breaking up scar tissue of tight connective tissue ( called adhesions) that may have formed from past injuries or surgeries. These tough areas can make it hard for muscles and joints to move smoothly. The needle helps loosen these restrictions, so your body can move more freely and comfortably.
Many people find dry needling especially helpful for sports injuries, muscle tension, or pain that hasn't gone away with stretching or massage. It's a safe, effective way to support healing and get you feeling better faster.
SPORTS MEDICINE ACUPUNCTURE® is an advanced training in the assessment and treatment of sports, work and orthopedic injuries.
ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE - Two needles in the muscle belly or fascia hooked to low level electric stimulation. Electro acupuncture causes muscle fasciculation inducing relaxation, increased blood flow, anti-inflammatory, and revitalizing the effected area.
CUPPING- decompression of the fascia of the effected area to increase blood and lymph flow & reduce pain and inflammation. Usually causes bruising.
GUA SHA- scrapping the effected area in order to break the blood supply to scar tissue. Increases range of motion and overall function of the effected area. This causes red petechiae of the area scraped.
